On being left behind.

Image
There was this point in October 2021,that I felt extremely stagnant. I felt that I was stuck in a place where I do the same things over and over. I felt that I am being constantly put in a position that I am being delayed and my dreams were left behind. I am sure, I am not the only person who feels these things especially if we are up to something big and pivotal. My realization happened just a month after, when a certain employee in the corporate duty that I am assigned to came in for triaging. When he walked into the clinic, I knew for a fact the he is familiar. Like really familiar. Yes, I knew it. He was a former workmate, way back 2014 when I was still a working student. We belong to the same training batch in Sykes. We were both Call Center Agents. Fast forward to 2021, we met again but, in extremely different paths. I am not saying that he did not progress in life. Or he was not able to achieve anything. Also, this is not about him OK lol.  I was just happy to realize...

Life lessons I've learned from Reply 1988

Lesson 1  You do not need to get the biggest or the best role. In whatever you do, you just need give it your best. It makes all the difference. That's what makes you stand out The lead female character deok sun was chosen to be part of the 1988 Seoul Olympics. But the country she was representing suddenly backed out from the event. Her supposed to be moment of exposure suddenly went to the drain. Napahiya pa sa national TV. Pero Deok Sun was a persistent girl. Never absent herself from any practice. Though her role was very minimal, nagppractice sya araw araw. Sa school, sa bahay. And the Olympic council saw that. Kaya naman she was given a different country to represent. It only goes to show that in whatever we do, we need to be at our best. Because the right people will see it and we will be rewarded for it. Lesson 2 Being a middle clas family is very complicated. You are not poor enough to be subsidized but not rich enough to afford the things you want. Alam mo yung ganung feel...

Corona: the life, the changes, the realization

Who would have thought that an organism so microscopic could cause such a worldwide chaos. Who would have thought that this could happen within our lifetime, just when we are starting a new decade. This illness is so alarming because even the most meticulous still gets infected. Despite their PPE's and effort to stay safe, some of them still becomes sick. How much more for those who are not keen regarding this situation. They are at a higher risk. The anxiety that this pandemic caused has affected almost everyone of us. It affects us in many different ways, unique ways. Ways we cannot predict. Even me, as a Medical Student and Nurse, was not spared from it.  Yes, I was exposed to a confirmed POSITIVE COVID PATIENT. I never got the chance to be tested because of the "brilliance" of this government. But let us not go there, because this blog aims to make us feel that we are not alone and our fears and anxiety can be managed and are valid. TIMELINE ...

Important life lessons that studying Medicine has taught me.

Image
There will always be a greater and lesser person than us.  This fact has always been painful. From being the honor student that you were in pre med. To barely passing an exam. I saw my classmates brokedown. I saw them disappointed numerous times. They would often ask themselves "what happened to me?" I myself is a victim. I broke down two months in medicine. I questioned if what I have sacrificed was worth the pain. However, it is not everyday that you will feel defeated. There were days that you can become the greater person. With me being a Nursing major and an ICU Nurse before entering medicine I was able to understand some concepts easily. For it was the same with what we study in Nursing. I was able to answer a lot of medication questions from our professors. I do not spend too much time studying when we have return demonstrations for I know a lot of the skills by heart. And with that being said it became my personal responsibility to help some of our cla...

New Year, New Plans Which means, you need a new planner. Some would say it would just add to your clutter because you never use it. But it is 2020, who would care what would others say lol. Starbucks PH nailed it again when it comes to their planner game. No wonder, a lot are still lining up for that warm cup of coffee in order to collect those stickers. This year, they once again gave the people freedom to choose between a Travel Organizer and a usual planner. The planner comes in pink and gray. Whereas for the travel organizer, you can score it in brown and green. I got the brown travel organizer coz it makes me look and feel mature. lol Sticker collection started last Nov 2, 2019. And being the giddy and impatient me, I lined up first thing in the morning. My first purchase I was able to finish collecting the stickers by November 20 with the help of my ever generous friend ange. yey was able to claim it In more or less 2...
